Customised inserts are the solution you need to adapt the size of these small pieces to specific measurements. Besides, they improve the general uses of the inserts. And that is because their large-scale production facilitates their optimised fit into the structure they are to serve.
Customised inserts are the solution you need to adapt the size, shape, strength, colour or any usage specification that needs to be covered. This is to improve the usefulness of the inserts. That’s because their custom-made construction facilitates their optimised fit into the structure they are to serve.

Uses of the inserts
The customised inserts are highly versatile parts, because they fulfil various uses within the structure to which they belong. Their wide range of uses replicates that of conventional tube inserts. But, in addition, it can be said that they perfect it.
Manufacturing, following certain guidelines regarding dimensions, implies a degree of specialisation which in itself is an added benefit.
Regardless of shape, diameter or height, their common functions are of great importance as part of a structure:
- They keep the tube clean. The customised inserts fit perfectly into the tube, preventing any kind of dirt from getting in. They also prevent problems caused by humidity.
- They prevent leakages. In the same way that the use of tube inserts prevents the entry of dirt, the opposite is also true. Because they also prevent any substances they store or carry from leaking out.
- They serve a decorative purpose. They improve the aesthetic design of the tubes for which they are manufactured significantly. They provide a smooth, ergonomic finish.
- They increase the working life of the tubes. It is precisely the characteristics mentioned above that make tube inserts such a valuable contribution to their durability. With no leaks or entry from external dirt, it is more difficult for corrosion to occur, or for wear to become noticeable within a short period of time.
Specialisation of customised inserts
Customised inserts are a further step in the design of tube inserts. They involve matching specific requirements to the shape of the tube inserts with the precise height and diameter of the tube.
It is important to emphasise that this specialisation brings with it a great advantage. The custom manufacture of the inserts implies a way to maximise their usefulness. It’s easy to understand why. Because of the perfect fit between insert and tube, their ability to prevent dirt from entering, fluid from leaving, etc., will be even greater.
How are customised inserts produced?
At FORTAPS we base the production of the tube inserts on the previous production of our own moulds. This, in the case of customised caps, involves the design of specific moulds developed according to the measurements (specific diameters and elevation) defined for the particular case.
As we mentioned a few sentences ago, the tube inserts have different uses. And, according to the specific use for which each one is designed, it is useful to give them a specific shape. For example, oval-shaped ones are often used for decorative purposes, while those installed in tubes outdoors serve as decorative elements and, simultaneously, as anti-humidity devices. We will design the precise patterns according to the use for which they are intended.
In the case of customised inserts, what we do is adapt this same formula to the criteria chosen by each client.
Materials and steps
Firstly, we make the moulds of our stoppers using calibrated steel (they are very precise in their measurements, so they require very little work). We have the latest technology in automated machinery at our disposal, which greatly speeds up our production processes.
We then inject polyethylene in the moulds. Polyethylene is an extremely resistant thermoplastic, with very desirable characteristics for our products. Among them, it’s worth mentioning that they do not conduct electricity or heat, and they are easy to use with our injection system (projection on moulds). In particular, the low density is used for parts, and the high density (harder) for the flanges and threads.
As you can see, we are ready to design customised inserts for your needs. Our commitment to quality and to the satisfaction of our customers endorses us.
